No love learned here....

P.H.Rose

As a boy I never learned, the true act of love,
was only taught violence that returned from a pub (bar).
The smell of alcohol, on that black toothed breath,
sent shivers down my spine,as all hope had left.
I'll make you strong, his words slurred to me,
If that bastard falls over, out the door I'll then flee.
I imagined he was taller, than the tallest of trees,
But he was no bigger, than the smallest of flees.
I saw him punch my sister on the side of her face,
a big bloody bump swelled up in that place.
No huge, no kisses, just pushed so far along,
a black sheep apparently, is what i will become.
For Too many years, I've carried this load,
my life has been, such a very long road.
Through love of a women, three kids and a dog,
at last I feel solace in whom I dearly love.
