Lament

Reivax Camlost

Alas another tree is falling, grass and colored leaves are calling

Pyre building there to set afire kindling of maple wood and pine

Lament, for ages lost and rent from pages soft and dry with age

Cried out, the books and papers shout their inked old favors

Pleading for their lives to spare to men and flames, despair

Alas, another tree is falling, faster now the colors climbing red and

Yellow, as the covers cracked and too the spines and pages black

Lament for ages lost and spent for wisdom sought and turned to ash
