A Voyage To Nowhere

notapoet

A lifetime it seems

I’ve sailed towards freedom

But only in my dreams

Do I ever really arrive.

Stranded in this place

Like a ship on a reef

Held fast in the embrace

Of heartache and grief.

Unable to pull free

From its iron tight grip

Trapped in the misery

Of my now sinking ship

Desperation and anguish

Washes over my face

My hope starts to languish

On my voyage to this Imaginary place.

I’m a mariner who’s out of sort

Traversing this turbulent sea

Searching for the nearest port

Where I can finally be free.

You expressed your frustration so well metaphorically.
