New Whispers

Kurt Philip Behm

Sometimes,
  in the shadows
  of the early morning light

Resting in the
  shade,
  awaiting the beginning

And hiding
  from the end
  of all that’s unpromised

I watch
  the questions disguise themselves
  as often answered

And tuck
  new whispers soft within,
  —a certain change

Wonder what you may have been trying to sort out in your mind early in the morning in 1977. Carter was president. Computer tech was taking off. World Trade Center opened. Enjoyed.

I was actually consumed by the birth of my daughter (my oldest born in May of that year), and the floodgates were open.

The change was what was happening to me.

    🙂
