Deep Down

JustABird

All systems aligned and checked for dive.

But how deep should we go?

To bottom of my heart?

The depths of my very soul?

How deep are you willing to look, to fix the problems we’ve ignored?

Are you willing to go the distance?

I am, if you are.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a 7x7x7 writing exercise I did. It starts with the seventh line on the seventh page of the seventh book on my bookshelf (The Hunt For Red October). And it could only consist of seven lines.

Not sure if this is a terrible review or not. :/

Oh wow, the site did not notify me of this empty comment.

Think of it as I was speechless in admiration! Haha,

        Really though, great little piece.

        : )

Love the starting point. Really good to hear how people get started on a poem.
I think this also worked out really well.
Evocative, mixtures of tentative hopefulness. Realky enjoyed it.
