Why if I'm calm should I sway in your storm?

You provoke me with winds that have become my norm

You poke me with thunder,  I'm lightning strike torn

This change is hard but actually...

 

Why if I'm happy should I swim in your tears?

You've pulled me down for so many years

You've hurt me so much, I no longer know fear

I have always wondered to be honest...

 

Why if I'm damaged should I look at you to fix me?

You scarred me with abuse, I believed as true

You beat me with lies, I no longer know you

Lets really examine this....

 

Why if I'm not worthy should you build this wall?

You stack bricks around us to keep your control

You hit me with anger so I do as I'm told

You need me more than I do you

 

Why if you love me, do your actions not show?

You cry to pull me back to our past loves cove

You prey on my kindness to keep my soul

If you truly loved me you'd let me go
