The Strongest Opponent

poetboy123

They can tell you your worthless

That you won't be anything useful

Not to them, to your parents, or anyone

Why should you carry that hope when in your hands it is nothing!

Why should I believe in my dreams when they say it'll go nowhere!

If to them I can't be a good person, how could I be a great one?

If to them I'm stupid, then how will I be an intellectual?

What is the point of all this effort?

What is the point of all this pain!

Why do I continue writing although it doesn't matter!

My hearts in my head, everyone tells me it shouldn't be

"Be realistic."

If any of us were realistic about this world, many would've given up and collapsed!

Yet the sun doesn't stop rising.

But it doesn't stop setting.
