FORGETTING.

Zwitterion

Having lived

and so long held,

your memories

as a crutch,

how must I

now drift away,

and pretend

you never were?

How must I

now teach myself

to remember

to forget?

How to live

this faking and

oblivion make

from memory?

With you expelled

from my being,

how must I

still be myself?

How must you

so etched in me,

from my soul

be thus erased?
