Angel With a Heart of Stone

Izzi Lynn

An angel with a heart of stone
A demon with a white soul
A god with sins and a devil with prayers

I know my past
accept my future
and live my present.
My past shapes and molds me
But I cannot change it.
My future is beyond my control,
But my present
is mine to control.

I'm an angel with a heart of stone
A demon with a pure soul
A god with sins and a devil with prayers.

I value myself
because I am worth valuing,
because I can't value others
unless I first value myself,
because I am human
and every flaw
makes me whole.

I'm an angel with a heart of stone,
a demon with a pure soul,
I'm a god who sins
and a devil who prays

I do not let fear rule me
because I am my only master
and because I know courage
is not fearlessness,
rather it is facing my deepest fears
and rising above them.

I'm an angel with a heart of stone,
I'm a demon with a holy soul.
I'm a god who sins
and a devil who prays.

Knowledge is the wings I soar upon,
wisdom is the wind beneath me,
and as long as I have an open mind
the world will never cease to amaze me.

My heartbeat is a song
that lives inside my chest.
Her laughter is a melody
that echoes in my head,
chasing down the emptiness.
His words are a rhythm
that soothes the aching loneliness
and saves me from myself.
