Family oh family
they say how important you are to me
if only they knew
the pain they put me through.
“You’ll never be good enough!
You’re a pathetic little scruff!
Get good grades!
It’s all a faze!
Come on, pick the slack up!
Haven’t you eaten enough!”
My parents, our parents fuel our insecurities.
If only they could see
that they are breaking me
“Go get some friends!
Stop following those trends!
Stupid is how you look!
Go read a goddamn book!
Stop going online!
Find a new way to spend your time!”
Family oh family
they say how important you are to me.
If only they knew
the pain you put my through.
