Etchings Remain

Marie Braden

A dream or two,

Can sometimes come true,

Seizing the quiet,

pondering frost upon the window glass,

Dancing through the mind,

Etching of memories past,

Drew the blanket closer still,

On the coldest night,

Across the way,

A distant light,

A glimmer of hope,

A traveler might,

Stop to chat tonight,

Rocking too and frow,

Did she see hope in the glow,

Through the window,

Was there a shadow through the snow?

Heard singing getting closer still,

Joy to the world,

Away in a manger,

And silent night,

Filled up the quiet,

What a thrill when carolers the empty field,

Gifts for the lonely,

Could have come from God only,

Those sparks from the fire place,

Showed a scene to amaze,

Carving upon the glass,

Mural from the past,

She closed her eyes and stepped into heavens view,

Felt the warmth from Gods love too,

A dream or two can sometimes come true,

I was so sure angels drifted round,

As grandmas soul lifted,

Homeward bound,

Snapped the view with mind span,

Will explain later oh if only I can,

God always has a plan,

A dream or two sometimes comes true,

Now the etching is done,

I can only imagine,

Why its grandma talking with God's son,

In the quiet field,

Etching remain,

As they always will,

In the quiet field!

Etchings remain,

As they always will.
