How am I
To live a meaningful life
In a world full of misery
Inhumanity and strife
To dodge all the pitfalls
That lead us all to sin
Knowing good and well
It’s a battle I’ll never win
How am I
To be able to cope
In a society full racism
And a world who’s lost hope
To be reassured of a future
Where mankind still has a place
On this planet we have treated
With devastation and disgrace
How am I
To give my children a chance
To surpass my expectations
Is there even a chance?
Will they be left with a planet
Raped and poisoned beyond all repair
A wasteland of religious hatred
Do we even really care?
How are “WE”
As a species expect to survive
If we all continue with the mind set
That only my race and religion
Deserve to be alive.

Great write
Extremely thoughtful and the questions you ask must be answered so that no one is left out and we can all live in peace. I worry about my family in relation to this poem. You are making me think about the year to come.
the sad sorry truth, excellent work
very thoughtful, full of insight and fact
actually it's a bit in-nerving as well it should be. I salute you NAP. ww
Fantastic Nap
Love it...
Very well written poem, NAP! Unsettling to read because there is so much truth to it. Great job!
I just heard today on the news a college professor calling for genocide of all white people. The cast of Hamilton was open to only people of color. Blacks on college campuses are asking for places of refuge. Hispanics feel threatened by police and on and on. We do live in a strange world. I can sympathize with your concerns. Nicely done.
Great message withina greatly written poem
