Fake
To be alive;
You can breathe
You can feel
But something more
Are you real?
Covered up from head to toe
Make-up makes us cold like snow
Dress up your personality so,
We won’t see the winter in your soul
To be alive;
You can breathe,
But as air comes out,
I see your breath freeze
You can feel
But the hands of frost, you conceal
So to be human
Are you real?
Anxiety makes us broken twigs
Depression holds us still like rocks
We ourselves, break us, we are the stones
The sticks
Mentally thrown unto emotion
Emotionally cast upon the mind
Our hearts do pound, and tears we do cry
A real nation of kids popping pills
Youth on medication
Train our minds
But you can’t standardize personality
Souls cannot break
As if tests are reality
So as of late,
This world we live in;
We call it fake
Hide yourself, front to back
Upon a throne of lies are you sat
But you cannot hold from us
A heart that is an ice trap
Told us we could find a way to the top
But gave us false maps
To be alive; you are not
You breathe frozen pride
You feel with the touch of frost
You grab with the grip of winter
You see through blocks of ice,
You built with every lie
You speak of truthful vision
But nothing have you seen
To be human;
You are machine
So as of late,
This world we live in;
We call it Fake
