Social media

Jmanning5

we blame society
but we are society
so many iPhones ipads imacs
so many i's
but not many us's or we's
you see
we spend more time looking down
instead of looking around
at what's going on
it's time to disconnect
and reconnect
so many social networks
that are antisocial networks
the media that we call social is anything but
it's our doors that we shut
isolation
that causes so much desolation
so many touch screens
that make us lose touch
slaves to the technology that we mastered
and that can only lead to disaster
just because it decreases our attention span just a little bit faster
conversations reduced to abbreviations
media overstimulation

THIS is wonderful. You broke everything down to its simplest level. I could not agree more with everything you said here. I do not have any of those i's you mentioned. I have a computer and that it is. I had my cable unplugged seven years ago. I do NOT miss it. This is the best explanation on the subject I have ever read. Thank you.

Very good poem. I do not own a smartphone so I have nothing to look down at, but I observe the same people looking down, unaware of whats happening around them. Excellent write!!
