Everybody put your glasses on and look who's the man now,
Got y'all lookin like "Damn, who's that guy in the vans now?"
It's my time to shine, I'm the man with the plans now,
Thankful for this gift of writing thoughts, that's hands down

People looking so surprised, they asking me "Cliff how?",
I tell em I'm an outcast so you know that I stand out,
I couldn't hold this tree in my brain, so I branched out
And let these new ideas grow before they all fell out

Back in high school, I wasn't good enough for hoopin,
Never got the shorties, or was interested in shootin,
My mind's the only weapon that I need and now I use it,
To paint a vivid picture from my heart so you can view it

Everything I write is honesty, I can't ever fake it,
When you look into yourself and find something, then you made it,
Only the real survive because they're brave enough to face it,
I'm a lion in the jungle, like a dream I'm gonna chase it

Now they're all asking me "Cliff who do you do it for?"
I do it for myself, first and foremost, that's for sure,
I never set out looking for the fame or cash galore,
I just wanted to share these keys so you can open up some doors

I do it for the girls that are always feeling short changed,
That's tired of the same guys showing them the same things
Well I can't promise that I won't put you through some pain,
But I'm shooting for your heart, Kobe Bryant long range

I do it for all the kids growing up on the block,
That's seen more holes in people than the bottom of socks
It's time to pick up the books and put away all the glocks,
Earn a couple degrees and claim your spot at the top

As the world turns, it keeps on getting colder,
The pressure's weighing heavy, it's pulling down my shoulders
My thoughts are getting sharper as I keep on getting older,
So imma keep writing all these rhymes until it's over
