Mirror

Seon

I see the mirror you mean, sitting on this wall, while I watch my self standing tall. Look at this mirror my friend I am not tall, watch as I begin to fall. Skin forming cracks, eyes becoming blind, a thought zooms past, ''why was no one kind''. Confused I still stand, not breaking my gaze, the mirror seems to have me in a daze. Look again my friend I think I am dying, I do not know why, but I cannot stop crying. My gaze is broken as i look at my hands, they do not reflect the mirror, tall i still stand. Once more, look my friend I realize what's going on, I think my soul is about to be gone.

  • Comment from author about the poem: A poem written for boy I met. He said he was sad, I could see the anguish in his eyes. I told him "give me a one word subject special to you". He said, "mirror".
