A Mother's View

PotbellyPleb

"I just realized something," I say to Mother.

"If Elena lifts her shoe, I'll tie them for her.

Or I'll help her clean; hang up a coat she gave--

Wait! But don't get me wrong, I'm a Mother, not a slave!"

She laughed playfully as she washed with urgence,

saying, "Mother, slave...really, what's the difference?"

Love the way you've chosen to present this 'conversational verse'.
    Light, witty and prosaic.
