life circles around us and through to tomorrow
when falling over with broken wings filled us with hurt and some sorrow
and another day arrives for us to learn how to regain some spirit
oh, those wet and run down days that take you to the limit
then teachings with the concern of regaining some life
that so difficult it becomes a reminder of how it can cut like a knife
so when the scars are healed into the cross and bone of bad
life is life and to forgive but not to forget are the dreams people have
damaged remains the same in thought so repair it for the future
self-meditation and the mountains are the realms to be your own tutor
in giving advice to those in need who live on hopes and fears
drowning in the flow of desperation when the magic held back the tears
bubbling books brimmed with the happiness searching for and more
then take some huge leaps forward and learn to open every door.

I like your sense of rhyme, but one major component that makes poetry work is also the rhythm. You have some good lines, emotional lines, but you need to make it all flow.
I am learning that part. I have only just started writing a year ago so need a bit more practise yet. thank you for your comment.
you're welcome, also, it's not something you learn or study, it's something you work on, read your poetry outloud in a constant rhythm, and if something doesn't fit, change it.
I like your poem very much, as well as its message, Kevin!
