The Weight On Their Shoulders

poetboy5454

When all you want to do

and all you want to see

is for them all to be happy

I would do what I had to

Because when I cried,

they wiped the tears

Even had lied

To quiet my fears

Now they're going through hell

And there's no way to tell

If we'll all make it out alive

Here we've barely survived

The weight on their shoulders

A burden even stronger than boulders

Pain stricken upon their faces

Trapped in their own cages

They're all lost in this despair

I don't know if I can do it

But I know this isn't fair

But I know I'm too stubborn to admit...

My turn to watch them cry

Dry their tears, tell them it's okay

Even with these boulders on their shoulder, they can still fly

Anything so they don't fade away
