The chauvinistic mystic.

The arrogant mind is negligent,

so the conscious see life like an ambitious experiment,

and the arrogant... unconsciously detrimental and hell bent.

Neither is better or worse because that would be narcissistic,

i personally prefer holistic and optimistic,

but my subconscious runs red with things that are pessimistic,

i want to be a mystic but sometimes i'm too chauvinistic,

so for now I'll make steps to seeing clearly and purely without putting on too much lipstick,

and stop letting random men in on it.

    CAITLIN ~ Thank you for sharing this very elegant POEM. It is classical artistically (perfect visual) ~ sensuous structurally (love the Pink / Black alternation) ~ intellectual linguistically ~ WOW. All intellectuals aspire to higher consciousness ~ we all want to be Mystics ! BUT as you say there are constraints. Chauvinism is one of them ~ as are arrogance ~ narcissism and pessimism. I too try to be holistic and optimistic (which is reflected in my poetry). Also ~ like yourself ~ Random Men (and Women !) are anathema ! Thanks for caring ~ it made me think ! Yours BRIAN
