American Dad

Mr.Gillette

The American Dad

Taken for granted

A comic book hero

An astronaut landed

But in the eyes of the beholder

A man helped conceive

With a woman never loved

A child he'll now leave

The only moments spent

With the father and his child

Is a picture in a frame

While he wishes to meet the smile

Dad always calls

But he never hears the tone

Your full of broken promises

Mom whispers on the phone

Then he wakes up

From noises in the night

Gets up out of bed

And turns on all the lights

To see his mom sitting there

Crying in the dark

Naturally as a child

Your place is in her arms

But since was never shown love

She couldn't give a darn

So she pushed him away

But she meant him no harm

And the very next day

The lies drove her mad

She was full of broken promises

And she was just like dad
