The Touch

Marie Braden

Over the hills and far distant fields,

Doves I see,

Singing sweet melodies,

Secret words to the world unheard,

I cry from father divine,

Oh that Jesus is the peace to find,

Write them down and send them up to heavens round,

Heavens best is waiting to see,

If you have courage enough to write them down,

Oh the chill in complacency,

It's me again oh Lord,

Seeking hope from eternity,

And the words came,

Peace, Love, and Joy from heavens,

The doves humble spirit,

Sores right by,

Humming "It'll be alright! All around you is loves light",

God sending love sounds,

By doves from home,

Spirit to spirit touch,

While singing through quiet still,

What peace to welcome a soul,

To bow at Jesus' feet,

Singing melodies that causes the heart to skip a beat,

It's souls like this he'll chose to keep,

And the doves in flight keep right on humming tonight,

Send the light,

Brings perfect loves glow,

Lets every lost soul know,

Jesus saves the soul,

Sends perfect love to overflow,

Oh what humming from the dove,

Carry on with wings in flight,

Till I step away from my darkest night,

I sing unto the Lord until everything is alright,

Thank him for his dove in flight,

And wonderful words that beckon to homes fair land,

And oh I feel the touch of unseen hands.
