Unclench My Heart

Unclench My Heart

The blood oozes through your fingers, as I gasp for air.

Short, brief breaths—inhale and exhale.

The pain is perpetual.

The damage, I fear, permanent.

The memories dizzy me.

The cost, far too exorbitant, as I cease to breathe!
