Redemption

elphaba993

I'm spiraling down
My heart feels
Like it's under water
I'm drowning
Every day I slip further
Beyond redemption.

I'm caught in this cycle
Constantly waiting
To hear from you;
Consistently being let down.

I thought you could be the one...
The one to make me feel
Again.
And I guess
In a way
You did.

I'm tired of games.
I'm tired of being played.

I love you.
I love you so much.

But what am I supposed to do now?

Maybe I put you too high,
High on a pedestal
That was unattainable.

But now I'm left here
Crumbling
With nothing left to hold me up.

You were my last hope.

And now I'm spiraling downward
Slipping further and further
Beyond redemption
And you.
