Leave not the robin in the road

Reivax Camlost

Who are we but extant in all despite

To leave alone, unhallowed in the street

A robin lying broken, fell from flight

And crying out for some salvation fleet

And spectral as the spirit who in watching writes:

"And men alone in all despair and sin

Astray in torpid water slowly drowned

Would call for some salvation held therein

And none but that forever lost was found"

We all cry out in despair in times of grave need. Salvation is another matter. Enjoyed.

Enjoyed the archaic form and strong message in this short fable - the final line holds a haunt of a punch. Great stuff.
