Wounds and Bandaids

Clark

Please
Stop scratching my wounds
Leave me alone
Don't you understand
I am my disease

Please don't try to change me
Because I would never try to change
You

Instead of constantly tearing me down
And pushing me to breaking points
Put yourself in my place

See the experiences that you lack
Because you don't know
What's happened to me

Watch them all walk away
One by one
Watch them leave without care
Without saying goodbye

I wished they'd said goodbye

Feel yourself cling to the past
As I once did because
That pain was all I've ever known

Feeling pain is feeling
Feeling nothing is being dead

Look at me
Do you see it
Do you see why I close
Every single door

Please
Love me as I am
Stop scratching my wounds
Will you hand me a bandaid
