My wonderful selfish dad..
( they say you don't miss what you've never had)
( not true, I'd take selfish over evil any day....)
You rowed out of our open front door,
sailed across that cobbled street.
Your ship had finally at last come in,
selfishness was firmly within your skin.
Goodbye child, baby and pregnant wife,
a quality man you showed that day.
What goes through a mind such as yours,
How fast did you pack your bag of clothes.
Her car waiting, the engine warm,
wouldn't wait a second more that morn.
Her man had passed,an accident at work,
period of mourning , a large sum banked.
She met this sperm that gave me life,
cash up front, now leave your wife.
Disappearing through the door that day,
evil came in, life would never be the same.
Thanks now Drop dead dad !!!!!!

Great job and ending. But, sorry that happened and you feel that way. I can relate, and have sometimes felt angry. But, I am fortunate as time has healed me. Hope you can heal too!
Thank you WBL..
I have gotten better
With age.. but sometimes
When sat alone I
Get very angry
I would do without
Breath before my kids
And grandchildren
I cannot understand
Anyone that wouldn't
Great poem! Unfortunately I feel your pain. I would rather have no dad than the DONOR that I have. He doesn't call or write. I wonder how a man can do without his kids and grandkids like that. I think forgiveness is key. Like I said, great poem!
Thank you Chrissy
