Things They Did

elenasky

They say Love is all we need,

This longevity elixir.

They say happiness is what they breathe,

But cocaine smell is far from it.

Unfortunate dying souls and shattered dreams...

All lonely nights, lips pressed so tight.

Nostalgic thoughts, full glass of wine...

They say I'm cool, the best of all,

The beauty queen, inside a void.

Facade is fantasy, a heart is made of stone.

They took me in, they took me all,

Now angel's heart has evil soul.

The world I knew is the world with a hole.

And all my dreams are deep in a tomb.

I pray the God for a new goal.

I can't believe what have I done, how far I went.

All that I loved are left behind.

My soul is lost, I scream tonight,

I want it back, my light, my life!

Yet, all I have is a foggy sky.

Give me my innocence back,

I am weightless again.

Let my story begin,

I don't seem to know where to draw the line.

My poetry is dark, it's all I have left inside.

And all those massive lies,

All those killing nights,

They make me realize

My past is dead, the life is carousel,

My bad side drives, so pour some more liqueur and enjoy the ride.

Yes sad, and if I interpret correctly, giving up. Nicely done. I love the format, the seeming randomness of the thoughts that form the whole.
