Lady Cherokee

Edthepoet

In her eyes
Was every thought of mine
My mouth was talking
But my tongue was tied
As I looked up
The day turned to night
The Voices whispered
As the wind grew wild
I'm Lady Cherokee
I know where you come from
I know what you seek
I'm Lady Cherokee
For your crimes
You will now bleed

I woke up
Down by the riverside
My boots were missing
And my hands were tied
As I looked up
At the cold blue sky
The Voices whispered
As the crows took flight
Oh Lady Cherokee
I'm not who you run from
I'm not what you think
Oh Lady Cherokee
For their crimes
I will not bleed
