The Odds of You

Clark

I feel you deep within my skin
Waiting for you to return again
The sun is lit and the moon is dim
The odds of you coming is very slim

My heart races as I wait for you
The view of your smile and the scent of perfume
I wait by the door to see you come through
When I go outside all I see is the moon

I sit down at the table allowed to be free
Suddenly everything is clear to see
You're not coming back let alone for me
Now I can move on with closure and peace

I love that you ended the poem with the thought of moving on.. 'cuz it was somehow unexpected & different, I guess.. it felt sort of melancholic until that part, but then it gave some sort of comfort, if I can call it that.. well done! 🙂

Sometimes, though it's difficult we have to accept what is and move on. Of course, I can relate. I did enjoy reading your poem and thanks for sharing!

I loved your poem. I think it's so relatable. I like that your poem ended on a somewhat positive note that you were going to be okay, that this wasn't the end of you. But I like your writing style! Christina
