Reminiscent

Francesco

Reminiscent of our kiss
on a day you were still mine:
If I'd known it'd be our last
I'd have kissed you one more time.

And the way you held my hand
when days shone a little brighter:
had I known the sorry end
I'd have held a little tighter

Woe the memories of our laughter
when I stood a little prouder:
had I known the tears to come
I'd have laughed a little louder

How I miss the time I held you
as our hearts still growing fonder:
if I'd known that'd be the last
I'd have held a little longer

All those times you said "I love you"
and my knees would slowly soften:
If I'd known how much I'd hurt you
I'd have said it far more often

Looking deep into your eyes
with a fondness growing steeper:
had I foreseen our goodbye
I'd have looked a little deeper.

Grief or sorrow, who can tell
what new heavens brings this hell
In a daze I shily live,
hoping that you can forgive.

          Thank you, Andrew.
The business of life has taken me away for a little while... but my heart is bleeding one more time, and so I have returned.
