When darkness falls

Bubbling just below the surface
Following me everywhere I go
Lurking deep within the shadows
He stalks me like a ravenous tiger
But trying to drowning him
Only proves his strength
So as darkness falls
I plunge in head first
Lost like tears in a storm
I find myself caught in a whirl wind of desperation only hoping to be found
Amongst the animosity a moment of clarity  opens up
And there I stand looking at myself
