Strange forbidden fruit

Desaru

I have eaten the strange

forbidden fruit

it is no ordinary fruit

it resembles an apple

sweet

vibrant red

pure

shape so inviting

but take one bite and you will see

how evil this fruit can be

bitter

rotten to the core

causing irrational behavior

heartbreak

 deception

this is no ordinary fruit

like a no good car with a nice paint job

it will chew you up and spit you out

as you do the same

it will leave a bad taste that never goes away

this is no ordinary fruit

I have eaten this strange

forbidden

fruit

The ill tasting fruit, to represent the ills of a lifetime. We tend to chew on this mysterious plum all too often. Love gone sour, a poorly chosen occupation, an illness, a lost friend or family member, all the things that make us wish we had chosen differently, or that they would not have happened. But, such is life, and we struggle along.
Your poem was a great comparison of life's fate to choosing a bad fruit. You wrote with creativity and imagination. Your images and word choices were great. Liked this a lot. - Phil A.
