Smile

poetboy123

I set my head above my shoulders

Ready to lift and carry those boulders

With the effort and the sweat poured

It won't be long until we've soared

Despite the chains of ignorance tying us down

That doesn't mean we have to live with frowns

Unite our strengths and banish all animosities

Maybe then they can hear our pleas

Even though you may not have hope

And although you think you can't cope

Just look to the sky, there's so much to see

All you have to do is take a step to be free

Take a deep breath, because there's a lot to take in

I know you don't trust it, our chances are thin

But one light is most bright in this darkness

So let yourself shine, let's get to business

We don't have all the time we may need

And maybe not all the blood that will bleed

Or enough tears to stop their greed

But in our smiles we are freed
