Water, wake me up
It was the water
That washed her skin.
Gravel stand me up
It was the gravel
That grazed her shins.
For now I see
It's the gold in the leaves
It's the green in the tree tops
That stroke the sky's feet.
These are the colours,
The colours that we need
To paint a life complete.
Mother, stands so proud
It was the mother
She built her heart.
Father, smiles so loud
It was the father
Who made her laugh.
For now I see
It's the blue in the sea
It's the clear in her tear drops
That meet smiling cheeks.
These are the colours
The colours that we need
To paint a life complete

- Comment from author about the poem: After being together for 2 years we finally saved enough money to fly over to Latvia, where I met her entire family and friends, upon waking the next morning, after a night of vodka fuelled celebrations, seeing her sleeping next to me in the bedroom she had called home for the first 22 years of her life, I realised that I was actually meeting her true self for the very first time. We shared another 2 years together, however as written in my poem "River of Dreams" sometimes love isn't enough.
