Go and write a masterpiece
That's what my dad always said to me
And when you've lost the words to speak
Don't take this set back personally
People aren't here to suppress you
People aren't here to burden or test you
And when you've found the words to speak
You'll reel off verses tirelessly
And when people way in you'll react violently
But you fought all this time so you could prove mindlessly
We can be what we want to be
Without hope or shelter
We plead restlessly
And I know that it's hard to be me
But it's harder to be someone else that's the truth
So I've done as I promised dad
I sat pen in hand and gave this all I have
And I hope that someday you'll be proud
'Cause when the darks blinded
I know your light shines
