Maybe it's silly
To leave your heart so wide open
That the slightest thing
Can cause it to break
But I don't know how else to live
Without my heart I am nothing
All these tears
Well maybe one day
I will understand
Their purpose
Only then
can I stop guarding my heart

I wouldn't say it's silly to live with an open heart, I would say it's courageous. A broken heart is destined to fix itself. Nice write x
To be alive requires an open heart. Trying to live with a closed heart is like speaking with a closed mouth. To appreciate love and to emanate love we need an open heart. A closed heart shuts out love and hoards what we have of it. Live openly and be free. Loved your poem. - Phil A.
