So Much More

T_Jenise1022

I'm so much more

than skin, bones, organs,

legs, arms,

eyes, ears, a nose, and mouth.

I'm so much more

than an African American girl

living in Mississippi

enjoying her life.

I'm so much more

than a daughter,

granddaughter, niece,

sister, and cousin.

I'm so much more

than a student at Clinton High School

that makes good grades

and runs cross country.

I'm so much more

than a lover of reading,

writing, drawing,

and listening to music.

These common labels

don't define me.

If people took the time to get to know me,

they'd see I'm so much more.
