Severus Alexander

Dark eyes, bearing mirthful compliment to this

light-touched room, shrouded in unbroken quiet

Of all the thoughts of you I cherish, I miss

only at the most peaceful moment, and fret

in passing, smilingly, for those striking eyes

that glow alike ebony in rose-gold set

Reminds me of a song, Spanish eyes. The construction of the poem is special.
