Put into words,
What I’m feeling.
Trying to focus,
Mind is reeling.
Maybe it’s just,
The time of year?
Some apprehension,
A bit of fear.
The lack of sun,
Maybe the reason?
Many find this,
The toughest season.
Something please,
An explanation.
Blurry thoughts,
No concentration.
Needing just,
A touch of faith.
Helps one along,
To a better place.
Missing sunshine,
And vitamin D.
Robs my bliss,
The peace in me.
Empty now,
Feeling alone.
Wondering why,
To this I’m prone.
Once so busy,
Bustling pace,
Now lost within,
A vacant space.
It’s such a mess,
All’s gone amuck,
Arrest my mind,
Disorderly conduct.

Welcome
Cold and rainy yesterday here in the lone star state but gunna be 70's and sunny today. Great write, loved it
So glad for you. We are expecting more snow and today my windshield was pelted with ice from the wires and tree branches over the road I was on. I was so pissed off about that! So enjoy your beautiful weather and thanks so much for the comment!
could be a poem to represent everyday of my life....i like it
Yes, I relate. Thanks for the comment. It happens to me when I do not get much sleep. I hate that, but I am so glad you like the poem 🙂
I know exactly what it is. You need a big HUG. I saved one for you. That, a cup of freshly brewed coffee, and rays of sunshine.
Just what the doctor ordered! Thanks so very, very much! That is so sweet!
Wonderful poem. I know how you feel! I was so happy last week when the sun came out for a few days. I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels the way your poem describes!
No, you are not, for sure. I was just talking to someone who had returned from a visit with a therapist, and part of his problem stems from the lack of sunshine. Sunshine and fresh air is wonderful this time of year and so very helpful to everyone's moods. But, cloudy again today. Ho Hum. But, thanks Christina, you have cheered me up!
In Seattle, while visiting a few years back, I discovered warning signs put up by the City stating the dangers of depression during their winter months. Also the further North you go the higher the alcoholism rate. Iceland being the highest. So your poem is spot on. People are affected by the lack of light. However, the cat in the photo seems totally unaffected. Like your rhyming. - Phil A.
Ha Ha. I thought the cat was cute for the piece. I agree with your comment but learned something new about the Signs. Wow, that is saying something. Thanks for the input and the comment Phil. 🙂
And I'm glad you did
This is wonderful
My kind of poem
Love it....
Thank you so much P.H. I appreciate it. It does get gloomy here in the Northeast USA. But, having comments like your's are so cheering! So cheers to you 🙂
