I have seen the Egyptian and I am afraid
I came upon him in a dream dire and cold
In golden reptile mail, upon him laid
a jurist’s kibosh like in days of old
His world is where the darkness drowns the light
He comes with writs unspoken but obeyed
My body wrapped inside a shroud so tight
I cry, so soon, so soon, my death is made
The loathed Egyptian’s souls have glaring eyes
All wear a knowing smile, my fate is sealed
I hear my name in their dark moaning sighs
My will to live is strong I do not yield
I fear the storm of death and yearn the calm
But life! Is now my banner and my balm
