Through the Looking Glass

AJ

I see you all
Through photographs
A still of a smile
And frozen laughs
In black and white
They're olden days
Faded light
Washed out, hazed
I knew them once
I think I did
I stood there too
A brainwashed kid

But now I'm here
Where time doesn't stop
Not even for a photograph
My mind a living clock

I am still here
In all the days
And I see you
And I want to smile

I try and I do
A forgiving smile
Because although I know I can't
I wish to reach out my hand to you
Ask you why
I'm always here

An engaging verse of well written reflection and questions we all think of asking. Great read
