Words I'd Like To Say

If I could have one true wish and never have another
It would be to have one more hour with you my father
I love to put pen to paper writing words I'd like to say
Wishing hoping, praying you'll one day be back to stay

You left us so suddenly your thoughts were unknown
The heartache we all feel deep inside is clearly shown
Lots of tears, an heartfelt cries as we look up to the sky
Thanking God we had the chance to say our last goodbye

No matter how hard it gets, life goes on without me saying
I think of you so very much and I've even started praying
I always remember one things for sure an will never forget
The memories we shared in life I know we have no regret

Because I know you loved me as much as I loved you
Trying to believe is the hardest whilst knowing it's so true
God didn't grant me my wish, Why only he would know
I wish I knew his reasons for soon I'll have to let you go

No matter how my life changes or how I spend each day
Everything I do part of you is with me a role for you to play
For I know that in my heart & soul forever you'll always stay

Love Caroline

Such a loving tribute to a well loved and much missed father - a moving read.
