Falling

Allan J. Renaldo

As I fell,

I said I was okay.

I lied.

But my wings will hold me.

I started to fall.

I was scared.

I wanted this to be over.

All I do is hurt myself.

It's my fault.

I wanted this.

I needed to feel pain, so

I fell.

My heart was pounding as

I clung onto my old life,

And

I tried to save myself.

I was wrong.

I fell.

I wanted to fly,

So I created my wings.

I was all alone.

And as I took my last steps,

I jumped.

now read it backwards

Love it! The poems where you can read it backwards are so clever, I tried to make one, not entirely sure if it worked though. Well done

Thank you! Yes, I also enjoy these types of poems, and just had to write one. And if you ever wrote one, I'd love to read it. Thank you again.

This is amazing. I love how you could read it both up and down. It is very clever. Though never ever try to fly even if you want to. I tried to before and it did me no good.

Thank you! These are my favorite types of poems, because sometimes they can have different stories - not that this one does - and I really enjoy that. Again, thank you. And yes, flying doesn't seem to get you anywhere.
