What's the point?

poetboy5454

I believe in a future for all

So I don't want to disappoint

Yet here I am, as I fall

I think, what's the point?

Many more have tried before

It seems like nothing has changed

Winning battles, losing the war

For their ideas, their lives exchanged

Then I remember, MLK, Malcolm X, John Brown

All died, but all their goals achieved

So why should I be feeling let down

When they sacrificed for what they believed

Finally I've learned that's the point

We must bring love and peace to conjoint

Despite hate running rampant in our hearts

Truth and justice will band against the upstarts

Freedom is never given, only taken

Evil is never broken, only shaken
