The Train Will Go Ever On

poetboy123

The track never fully laid out

Before I noticed it was gone

Past memory and growing doubt

The train will go ever on

I remember when I spoke to you last

Grin on your face, and hope in your eyes

Here for so long, yet left so fast

As the fire in my heart weakens and dies

No rising from the ashes, what's gone is gone

Never realizing I had bought the ticket

For the train which will go ever on

I collapsed for the long awaited respite

Through my eyelids, light shone through

Always annoyingly reminding me of you

I open them, ready to see the next dawn

As I leave the train that will go ever on
