Stamped On My Heart.

kevin browne

when you lose control and it hurts just a little bit
fighting back the tears that lay the blame on you
when you stand up proud and you listen very carefully
puts honesty above from all those who told you so
hardships fell upon the words that you had spoken
an allowance in any admission of doubt unbroken
it wasn't you who was hung out in the sky left to dry
if eagles flew their nest then cuckoos could learn to fly
stupid worn out shoes some say they led the way
stamped on my heart it was as I listened to them say
walked over to my bridge that led them to my dream
far enough away somewhere that only I have seen
rain and a bow shot cupid's arrows heart in half
cross that out with a Romeo who lost a Juliet's heart
told and read by many a reader and always acted out
drawn into the cast as the curtain calls its name
loud applause for the show, entertaining letters
so others say to you as it goes what is it you mean
dropped from above does that remind you of anything
a word from Heaven taught me how to live again
