Sunflower

Sunflower

by

Gesenia Burley

What gives me life

Is that of hope.

With rays shine bright

My hands elope

I give hope to those who are lost

When it seems that happiness

Is a job; a business

Nothing but another cost.

Take you home; my body

Hold me close to your heart.

Let me be friend, your buddy

I'll open your mind; set you apart.

I'll remind you to the Sun I lean

For life and support.

But you have The Son

You are His kings and queens.

So to unhappiness...Deport!

Someone special loves you a ton.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I am a huge fan of sunflowers. They happen to be my favorite flower. I remember when I found that sunflowers lean towards to the sun; I was mesmerized. It blew my mind! What a beautiful creation. I love that just like the sunflower that leans toward the sun; we can lean on Christ any time in our life. Good or bad; He is always there.
