TRASH
[A collage of words & phrases from articles and ads on page A-25,
San Diego Union, Sunday, June 1, 1980]
Marxists identified in bulk trash bags
150 families now - more Protestants today than in 1949 -
with 650 tanks and 20,000 Russian troops
mobilizing a broad revival of regional, durable Detente trash -
reviving Brezhnev in October - trash can size -
and kindly looking Taoists, as well as Protestants,
and the Soviet Army’s 6th Armored Guards
supporting 33 gallons of Brezhnev in October
by the Elbe River in the Soviet Union proper,
with garrisons mobilizing in the Shanxi Provence - durable trash -
in case the church goes extinct in a broad revival of religion
trash bags ... trash bags with ties, disillusionment, Marxist bulk,
watching Western ideas mildew and decay,
and young people in their 20‘s and 20,000 Russian troops
models of durable Catholics - 33 gallon size -
now replaced by Brezhnev
while the children of high officials - trash can size -
mildew and decay beside loudspeakers
and government gas, and kindly looking Brezhnev
with Western ideas and long hair
and Buddhist aviator glasses
in bulk …
I remember the United States, the country of Yin,
the Church since 1949, closed Sundays for a broad revival
of durable trash - 33 gallon size -
with 150 families and 20,000 Russian troops
and Brezhnev
and John Doe and Mary Smith ...
a one-step stool to mobilize support
for the bulk trash of Marxists ...
with the New York Times News Service
reviving durable trash - bulk size -
since 1949.

- Comment from author about the poem: Well here\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s the last of the good-enough-to-post-publically poems I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve written over the years. It was the result of an assignment given in a poetry course I took when I went back to college, and it was a lot of fun to construct/write originally, and a lot of fun to tweak whenever the mood struck me through the years. All the words and phrases are attributed to others, so therefore I can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t claim too much credit - nor can I get too possessive about it if anyone else wants to mess with it in any way. :) Enjoy (if you can)!
