Do Not Say We Have Nothing

SushiStorm

Do not say we have nothing.

An abandoned home.

A shattered family.

Do not say we have nothing.

Broken dreams and promises.

False hopes and wishes.

Do not say we have nothing.

I wonder.

Tell me why.

I remember.

Mother told me how difficult it was for Father.

His stress, his pain, his love.

Tell me why.

His love feels so empty now.

Gone from our home.

Tell me why.

His stress and pain took so much.

Why he left nothing back.

Except a name on a stone.

It's hard to say we have anything.

Because I would rather have nothing.

Nothing at all.
